Louis Tomlinson isn’t holding anything back when it comes to his forthcoming debut solo album.
In fact, the One Direction member has repeatedly stressed how honest he’s been while crafting his new music in the studio.
Speaking to iHeart Radio, Tomlinson discussed being open with his solo music, and about how he hopes it’ll help fans relate to him on a deeper level.
“I think that there are little things that I think different people will the different things [from], I suppose. But the album in general is just me being really honest,” said Tomlinson. “There are certain songs that are me really trying to humanize myself and say, ‘I’m just like you guys.’”
Tomlinson is well known for wearing his heart on his sleeve, and for being quite active on social media. Despite the constant interaction with his fans, Tomlinson said he thinks they’ll learn more about him through his upcoming solo material than they ever have in the past.
“I think there will definitely be certain events that maybe they didn’t know that happened,” teased Tomlinson.
From the way Tomlinson speaks of his new music, it sounds like he’ll be delving into some pretty personal topics. Though the “Back To You” singer’s music promises to be some of his most vulnerable yet, that doesn’t mean it won’t be fun to listen to.
Back in August Tomlinson revealed that he’s hoping his forthcoming solo material will fill a void in pop music, which makes it sound as though his album won’t be lacking in the up-tempo tracks.
Currently, there’s no set release date for Tomlinson’s solo album, but we’ll be curious to hear how it all comes together whenever the record drops!
