In a recent interview with Fader, Malik opened up about not launching a full fledged tour to promote his first album, and why his plans for his sophomore release are different.
“The first record, I didn’t feel like there was enough material to do a proper show. So I just waved it off until the second album, so I can get the best of both,” Malik told Fader in a recent interview.
This is great news for fans of the “PILLOWTALK” singer who just last week dropped his first single off his upcoming sophomore solo album, “Dusk Till Dawn,” getting everyone even more excited for Malik’s promise of new music soon. Despite the fact that we don’t have a release date for his next record, Malik did say that a tour is definitely on his radar this time around.
“I think my confidence is definitely improved now, so a tour is definitely on the cards,” he explained to the publication. “I’m excited to start rehearsing.”
In a previous interview with the Evening Standard, the singer explained that working on his second album has afforded him a new outlook on performing.
“You have a certain sense of control, which is nice,” said Malik. “And I’m more confident in my ability and what I want to give to my fans. I can think of people coming out to see me perform as a positive thing now, rather than something I am dreading.”
Since Malik is still working on his next music venture, waiting is pretty much all that fans can do, but at least they know now that once the albums does drop, they will be able to finally see the 24-year-old singer live.
