Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Why’ Music Video Tease Features A ‘Riverdale’ Star

Sabrina Carpenter is at it again! After unveiling her latest single a few weeks ago, the singer is gearing up to drop the video for the track — but, first, she’s got a very exciting teaser to share with fans.

On Sunday (July 16), Carpenter took to Twitter to give fans a sneak peek at her upcoming music video for “Why.” The clip might be short, but it’s making us so excited for the video’s release, which is this Thursday!

“#WHY 7/20 RT,” Carpenter simply captioned the video, which is seven-seconds long and features Carpenter and a mystery man outdoors in what appears to be a city.

Okay, the mystery man is Riverdale star Casey Cott, who plays Kevin Keller on The CW series. Although this isn’t a glimpse at the comic-based TV series, it does have a mysterious element to it thanks to the fact that Carpenter is holding a camera and snapping pictures of something off screen (like a mini Harriet the Spy). Frankly, this clip would fit right in with an episode of Riverdale.

The only other clue we get from this teaser is that Carpenter and Cott are in a city. We know it’s not a lot of information, but it does makes us that much more curious about the “Why” video.

After Carpenter teased the actual song — through postcards of the cover art — we’d expect nothing less than a hint that leaves us with more questions than answers. And that’s exactly what we’re left with here. For example, is the video set in New York, since it’s the city the Disney Channel alum sings about in the song? Is Cott supposed to be the person she is has the opposite interests with, or is he just a friend, and there is another actor yet to be revealed?
